The boat

La Croix du sud

La Croix du Sud V is an institution in Sanary-sur-Mer. The company has been present since 1962, ideally located in the center of the port, in this pretty provencal village.

La Croix du Sud V is a 22m long by 7m wide boat featuring outdoor decks, a sheltered section with padded tables and benches, and a floor with unobstructed elevation views for better visibility. The boat has a navigation capability which allows it to navigate 20 nautical miles from a shelter. Its transport capacity is 165 passengers. It is equipped with toilets and you will be able to refresh yourself thanks to the bar offering water, coffee and sodas.

Welcoming disabled people

The cruises are accessible to people with the following disabilities: visual, auditory, mental. For people with reduced mobility, the boat can accommodate two classic wheelchairs (no motorized wheelchair), knowing that the toilet is not accessible with the chair because too narrow.

Our Partners

In partnership with the GECEM* and during cetacean cruises, La Croix du Sud V and Découverte du Vivant’s crew organize one or two conferences on Mediterranean whales and dolphins, accessible to both adults and children, in order to inform participants. We present the different species of cetaceans that inhabit the Mediterranean, their origin and evolution, address their remarkable biology (diet, fishing technique, games, rest …), as well as threats and protection measures, especially in the Sanctuary PELAGOS, Sanctuary for the protection of marine mammals. In addition, when they are available, friends of other associations of protection of the marine environment come to present their actions and to sensitize the participants (CestMed, We Ocean Project…).

*Association G.E.C.E.M (Study Group of cetaceans of the Mediterranean), composed of veterinary naturalists, conducts a conference on the adaptation of cetaceans to the marine environment.
